The
policy of the hospital is to impart training in medical, nursing and
paramedical disciplines. Staff is also encouraged to keep abreast
with the recent advances in their particular field of interest. They
are sponsored for higher studies and conferences. Regular continuing
medical education programmes are held in the hospital. Academics is
given due importance.
The following are the teaching
programmes conducted by the hospital. 1. General
Nursing and Midwifery Course. This is a three-year certificate
course. 2. Diploma course in Radiology. 3. Diploma course in
Laboratory Technology 4. Diploma course in Medical Record
Technology
The
above courses are recognized by the Government of Karnataka and the
Christian Medical Association of India.
The
hospital also imparts special training course in Community Geriatric
Care. Young men and women with basic education are trained to care
for the geriatric patients.
The
hospital is also recognized by the Royal College of Obstetrics and
Gynæcology, United Kingdom to train doctors for MRCOG Part II
examination.
The
hospital is also recognized by the Medical Council of India to
provide internship training for medical graduates.
From
time to time foreign medical graduates come from the UK and USA for
short periods to get exposure in tropical medicine.
