The Department of Medicine is run by a team of medical specialists with special interest in diabetology, cardiology, gastroenterology, tuberculosis and chest diseases apart from the general medical illnesses. 

Facility for emergency admission of acute medical problems is available round the clock. A well equipped Medical Intensive Care Unit with piped oxygen and central suction is available. The ICU is also equipped with electronic patient monitoring systems, ventilators, defibrillators and nursing staff trained in the care of critically ill patients. All the inpatients are seen by doctors at least twice a day and a senior physician is available round the clock to take care of emergencies.

There is facility for upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. 24 hour radiology and laboratory services with facilities including Blood Gas Analysis support the department.
