The Double Helix 2008 organized by the Church of South India Hospital, Bangalore in association with the Medical and Education  Committees of the Karnataka Central Diocese was held at Bangalore at the Bishop Cotton Girls' High School Auditorium on Saturday 27th October 2008. Shreecharan P.K. and Devesh Ballal of Bishop Cotton Boys' High School were the winners. Bonhipriya Das and Joanna Jacob of Bishop Cotton Girls' High School were the first runners up while Dharamveer and Akshay Sethi of Bishop Cotton Boys' High School were the second runners-up. It was a close finish for the top place requiring a tie-breaker to decide to winners. The winners received a cash prize of Rs. 5000 each, personal trophies and a Rolling Trophy while the first runners-up received a cash prize of Rs.3000.00, personal trophies and a Rolling Platter. 56 teams had taken part in the quiz which was the first of its kind in Bangalore. The quiz was inaugurated by Dr. Anand Zachariah, Vice Principal of Christian Medical College, Vellore. Rt. Rev. Vasanthakumar, Bishop of Karnataka Central Diocese was the chief guest while Rev. (Mrs) Vasanthakumar distributed the prizes.
