Honorary Director

Dr. Colin Noel John MBBS, MS, FRACS - Honorary Director of the hospital is a graduate and postgraduate of Christian Medical College, Vellore where he obtained his MBBS and MS (General Surgery) degrees.He obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Cardiothoracic Surgery) in the year 1986.

During his training and the years since qualifying as Cardiothoracic Surgeon, from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, he has been involved in over ten thousand Open-heart, fifteen hundred Closed-heart and five hundred Thoracic surgical procedures. This experience has been gained as assistant surgeon, supervised surgeon, independent surgeon and as surgeon supervising surgical trainees and junior surgeons during his tenure in the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Vellore, super specialized centers in Adelaide and Sydney, Australia, the Manipal Hospital and Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore, India. Neonatal, Infant, Paediatric and Adult subsets formed the patient population. Valvular, Coronary, Arrhythmia and the simple to the most complex congenital procedures comprised the surgeries performed.

He has received numerous awards which include Merit Certificate in Surgery, Best outgoing Sportsman of the college and Professor of International Health in the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA in recognition of Teaching, Research and Professional excellence.
He has extensive teaching experience. He has been attached to the University of Madras, University of Sydney, the MGR University, and currently the University of Minnesota, USA, and the Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, India. He has been teaching undergraduate medical, nursing and allied medical sciences students, postgraduates and super specialty cardiothoracic trainees and Paediatric cardiac surgical fellows.

He has also participated in continuing medical educations, conducted seminars, journal clubs and medical audits in the above Universities. He is currently the Chairman of Board of Examiners in Paediatric Cardiac Surgery in the Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences.

He has presented numerous papers at National and International Scientific Conferences and has also published many papers in reputed journals both national and international.
